Born on Oahu, HI & raised in San Diego, CA, I spent much of my youth travelling between the two states to visit my family. So in a way, both places feel like home to me. Crossing the Pacific has also meant constant exposure to shifting social and cultural dynamics within each city or neighborhood, which helped expand my worldview, little by little.

I try to remain eclectic in my hobbies & interests, and this has resulted in some career detours... At university, I studied journalism and anthropology, focusing in archaeology (National Geographic, anyone?). After college, I then expanded my skills towards medicine & science, working with pathology/cancer research labs. Today, while I still have interests in the humanities & science, my next endeavor is to apply all I've learned, from cultural competence to pathology to rock climbing, in order to become an Occupational Therapist--tentative graduation in 2018!

Depending on my mood, you can find me relaxing at home or galavanting, in the city or in nature, alone or with lovely company. My goal is always to appreciate what ever location I am in and to remain conscious (& conscientious) in whatever I do.
